Overview
Umbwe route is the hidden treasures of Kilimanjaro. A vertical slog that goes on top of Kilimanjaro through the most beautiful quiet jungle that emerges from a steep path at Barranco camp to join the southern circular route. Most climbers prefer to tackle Kibo via the normal southern east circular route round to Barafu the base camp and approach the summit from there. However, we have other climbers who prefer to go up via the hardest Arrow Glacier trail. Most of the climbers that climb Kilimanjaro in 6 days via this beautiful quiet and enjoyable trail reach the summit without difficulties since they get a day to acclimatize by stopping at Karanga camp for the night before going to the base camp.
