Overview
Rongai route starts from Loitoktok on the Northern part of the mountain on the Tanzania Kenya border. It later joins Marangu route at Kibo Huts. Rongai has magnificent view of Mawenzi and Kibo summits beside Kenya’s planes of Amboseli National park on its behind. It offers an opportunity to see wildlife with surprises of seeing big animals like Buffaloes or Elephants. Rongai route is preferable for those people with all size of fitness. People who are not long distance trekker have an option to Kibo via 3rdCave 3900mts camp where they will have an extra day to acclimatize. Great folks will remain on their normal trail that goes via Kikelewa camp; TUN hurt Camp and then Kibo the base camp. The climbers of this route get two different experiences since they descend by Marangu route. On their way down, they still sleep in their tents and not in the Huts like the climbers of Marangu route. It has a good moderate success rate.
