Overview
Lemosho is the furthest route starting from the south west of the mountain. This is among most beautiful routes that go to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro. It winds through the tropical forest to the western ridge of Shira, leading to Shira plateau to join Shira route. On Lemosho route, you will trek in a true jungle and you will have a great opportunity to see great wild animals beside beautiful flowers. We have Black and white Colubus monkeys, blues monkeys, bush babies, and different species of flowers and birds.
Lemosho is the most favourable route on Kilimanjaro as it suites people of all ages because it has enough days to acclimatize with high success rate. Climbers of this route descend by Mweka route from Barafu Camp. The success rate is high because of the long period its users take at the mountain.
